A rare and most attractive Mid 19th Century Antique Victorian Gaudy Welsh Pottery Twin Handled Vase, decorated overall in a so far unidentified pattern, which appears not to be listed in either volume of Monica South's excellent work, "Gaudy Welsh - A Visual Reference". A fine and attractive Pair of Antique French Faience Vases of tapering baluster form and lovely colour, the bodies painted in the "Art Nouveau" manner with sinuous trailing floral decoration. Lightly potted, no Maker's marks but the bases with painted and impressed numbers, one set of which is possibly a date code for 1913. Sarreguemines in North Eastern France has been suggested as the faiencerie of origin. A fine Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Indented Pottery Plate, printed in a medium blue with the "Ancient Rome" pattern. unmarked, but probably produced by Thomas and John Carey { 1823 - 42 }, at their Anchor Works, Lane End, Staffordshire. A dish decorated with this pattern and bearing an impressed mark, "CAREY & SONS", is illustrated by Coysh & Henrywood in "The Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery : 1780 - 1880, Volume II.
